WebBilby is small marsupial that belongs to the group of bandicoots. There were two species of bilby: greater and lesser bilby, that were once widespread across Australia. Only greater bilby exists today. It can be found in the south-western Queensland, parts of western Australia and Northern territories. Bilby inhabits deserts, grasslands and mulga shrublands. WebToday, bilbies are limited to 20 to 30% of their original territory and are found in Great Sandy, Tanami, and Gibson deserts in northwest Australia and the southwest tip of Queensland.
